^^ Rasika deliciousness ^^
No, I'm not talking about Christmastime (I'll wait until at least October to begin that...), but Restaurant Week in DC (technically last week)! Like in many other cities, Restaurant Week happens about twice a year in DC and for one week participating restaurants have a special menu with a starter, entree, and dessert all for $35 buckaroos! Last winter, the roomies and I hit up the Indian fare at The Bombay Club which was a huge hit - so we decided to continue the Indian tradition and went to the oh-so-wondeful Rasika West End (which Obama recently indulged in for his bday). Since we can't usually hit up these fancy restaurants regularly with our budgets, Restaurant Week offers up a fun excuse to see what these neat places have to offer without totally breaking the bank.
^^The roomies and the palak chaat - the most amazing fried spinach - I could eat a pot of this^^
On Thursday, Mr. LBV was in town for law school bidness so we decided to check out Lincoln again after having such a wonderful experience when my mom and sister were in town. As before, it did not disappoint and I am still having trouble deciding which dish was my favorite....there was the bread and brie, the brusselsprouts, the lobster beignets, the chocolate cake...how does one choose?!
^^ Lincoln american tapas - we were more than stuffed post-meal ^^
Needless to say, I fell a bit off my 'kinda vegan' diet last week, but it was relatively worth it. I'll do an update soon about how all of that is going - right now the GRE test countdown is in full swing (a little over 10 days to go and counting - AH) so I may be here a little less but I hope your Monday is off to a wonderful start... as wonderful as Monday's can be!
